Hello second trimester!!! After quite a few weeks of a blogging absence, thanks to my engineer brain combined with morning sickness, I was finally able to recap all the details I could remember from the past couple months of our baby's life. My goal going forward is to do weekly or bi-weekly updates to make sure we capture all the details of this pregnancy. Over the last few years it's been such a joy to read through these kinds of update blogs from other IVF mommas celebrating their miracle babies. My hope is that these updates can not only document our baby's growth, but encourage some of you as well. Now on to the fun part...
How far along? 14 weeks
Baby’s Size? Our baby is about 1.5 oz or the size of a peach!
Gender Prediction? Over the last few weeks, there's been times I was certain it was a girl and times I was certain it was a boy. Right now we are so excited and know that either way it's going to be amazing!
Weight Gain? 3 lbs
Started to Show? I think no, I’m just a little fluffy. However, we couldn't resist taking our first bump picture a little early at 12 weeks!

Maternity Clothes? Almost. After IVF, a lot of my clothes were already too tight from all the hormones and not enough activity. I've already bought a few maternity pieces, and have been wearing some of my bigger clothes lately.
Stretch Marks? Yes. I’ve had them for as long as I can remember. When I was young, I grew out and then up at a very fast rate, so I guess they were inevitable. I already have them on my stomach, a couple on my low back, and on my chest, so we will see if they get worse or if any new ones pop up.
Symptoms? Evening morning sickness, difficulty digesting certain foods, and fatigue on a different level!
Cravings? Cereal, starchy foods, fig bars, almond milk iced lattes.
Food aversions? Most sweets, tomatoes/ tomato sauce, rice, almost any food after 6pm, and ginger tea which I used to drink nightly.
Belly button in or out? In. My belly button is like a cavern, so this one is going to be no for a very long time if at all.
Sleep? Great. 8-9 hours a night with lots of weekend naps.
Movement? Nothing yet, but if I plop down really quick I swear I can feel our little peach bounce on my uterus.
Wedding ring on or off? On for now.
Miss Anything? My physical stamina. I miss being able to do an entire yoga class or jog 4-6 miles. During IVF, I really couldn’t work out the way I wanted. My body was going through lots of changes, and I was so bloated. Then after we found out I was pregnant, I was ready to start moving again when the morning sickness hit at about six weeks. For the last 5-6 weeks, I’ve felt so crummy during the afternoon and night that I haven’t wanted to do much of anything. My goal is to slowly start adding things back as I feel better. My morning sickness is getting better so Robert and I have been going to the Riverwalk on weekends which really helps make me feel better.
Best moment this week? Our our genetic testing ultrasound was scheduled for August 15th. We were at a very low risk for genetic abnormalities, but it had been so long since we had seen our baby that we really wanted to go ahead and do the test. Watching the baby kick and seeing an actual baby-shaped baby was surreal. We had our 14 week appointment yesterday, where we found out that our test results came back normal! The doctor said our baby's heart rate was 160 bpm, and everything is looking great.

Looking forward to? Being able to do more yoga and planning a fall trip.
Prayer Requests? Healthy baby and no pregnancy complications.
Only 26 Weeks till Baby,
Ashton
